Kettler Forlines Homes' Award-Winning Community in Montgomery County, Md.'s Historic Poolesville Recognized for Quality Construction

The Reserve at Brightwell Crossing (www.brightwellcrossing.com), Kettler Forlines Homes' newest residential living community in Western Montgomery County, has been recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for Kettler Forlines Homes' outstanding commitment to constructing homes with improved indoor air quality through participation in the Indoor airPLUS Program. Kettler Forlines Homes was one of only eight homebuilders nationwide to be honored with a 2015 Indoor airPLUS Leader Award.

"We're proud to announce the 2015 Indoor airPLUS Leader Award winners and to congratulate them for raising the bar on indoor air quality in new homes," said David Rowson, Director of EPA's Indoor Environments Division. "It is especially fitting that we recognize these winners in May during Asthma Awareness Month as factors found in the indoor environment can cause, trigger, or exacerbate asthma symptoms. These builders and Home Energy Raters are not only creating healthier indoor environments for homeowners, but they are also pushing the broader housing market toward safer, healthier housing by raising consumer awareness about the importance of indoor air quality. Their recognition is well-deserved."

"Indoor air quality is becoming increasingly important to homebuyers," Tom Kettler, President, Kettler Forlines Homes at Brightwell Crossing. "With improvements in home energy efficiency, our homeowners want to know that the air they are breathing is of the highest quality. We are proud to provide our homebuyers with high-performance homes that also offer improved comfort, safety, and peace of mind for their families."

"We have been building homes following the EPA's Energy Star program for many years. Taking the extra step of building to Indoor airPLUS standards, which includes certification by a third party and approval by the EPA, is one of the many ways we are staying at the forefront of the homebuilding industry," said H. Davidson (Dave) Griffin III, Senior Vice President of Kettler Forlines Homes and a National Home Builders Association Certified Green Professional.

Opened in September 2014, The Reserve at Brightwell Crossing is a new neighborhood of luxury single-family homes located on 1/2 acre plus sites. The Reserve features six Energy Star and Indoor airPLUS certified designs - the Ashton, the Kensington, the Seneca, the Montgomery, the Kenwood and the Potomac. Among the new floorplans, the Kenwood and Potomac designs feature something brand new and exclusive to Kettler Forlines Homes - a family guest house. Designed to accommodate multi-generational living, this attached guest home features its own living room, kitchenette, bedroom, bathroom, and laundry, plus a private entrance, as well as an entrance to the main house.

The Reserve offers a variety of home styles to choose from, including walk-out lots that back up to Dry Seneca Creek Stream Valley Park, full front porches, stone and brick fronts, wrap-around porches, side-loading garages, distinctive exteriors, and open, airy interiors. The homes range in size from 2,900 sq. ft. to over 7,200 sq. ft., and are priced from the low $700's to the $800's. Interactive floorplans for all designs are available at www.brightwellcrossing.com.

The Brightwell Crossing community is one of the first communities in the U.S. in which all homes are EPA Indoor airPLUS certified. Indoor airPLUS includes a set of material and building process requirements, which along with the EPA Energy Star for Homes program, is designed to improve indoor air quality, moisture control and long term durability. All Indoor airPLUS homes meet strict energy efficiency standards established by the ENERGY STAR Certified Homes Program. Homes displaying the Indoor airPLUS and ENERGY STAR Certified Homes labels provide energy efficiency, comfort, durability, indoor air quality, and peace of mind. The EPA has made it a top priority to educate other homebuilders across the nation on how to use this energy-efficient technology, featuring Brightwell Crossing as a best practice model.

Brightwell Crossing connects to 50 acres of protected woodlands, and includes an authentic wooden covered bridge along walking trails, a lacrosse/soccer field, a Village Green, a family picnic pavilion, multi-age playgrounds, and a multipurpose basketball court. It is located near Poolesville High School, ranked as Maryland's #1 high school by The Washington Post, in its annual Challenge Index.

Visit the community's Model Home & Design Center at 17919 Elgin Rd., Poolesville, Md 20837. Open daily 11 a.m.-6 p.m. For more information about The Reserve at Brightwell Crossing, please contact Community Sales Manager Chris Pikus at 301-208-2588 or chrispikus(at)kettlerforlineshomes(dot)com.
